Remote Accountant – Construction & Contracting Group (Remote, UAE-Based Company)

We are looking for an experienced Remote Accountant to maintain accurate and complete accounting records across a group of construction and contracting companies. You will process daily financial transactions, perform reconciliations, support month-end and year-end closing, prepare reports and schedules, and ensure compliance with IFRS, UAE VAT regulations and company financial policies, coordinating remotely with Finance, Procurement, Cost Control and Project teams.

Responsibilities
- Record and verify daily financial transactions in the ERP system; prepare and post journal entries with proper supporting documents.
- Maintain the general ledger, ensure correct account allocation and keep organised electronic accounting files.
- Perform bank, supplier, customer and intercompany reconciliations; reconcile petty cash, credit cards and fixed asset registers; resolve reconciling items.
- Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing: accruals, prepayments, depreciation, closing schedules, trial balance and financial statements.
- Prepare data and supporting schedules for UAE VAT return filing; ensure tax invoices and documents meet FTA requirements.
- Prepare periodic accounting and management reports; highlight variances and unusual transactions; support project cost allocation and revenue recording.
- Maintain audit-ready records and provide schedules and explanations to internal and external auditors.
- Provide daily/weekly progress updates, attend online finance coordination calls and remain available during working hours.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. ACCA / CPA / CMA (or in progress) is preferred.
- 3–6 years of accounting experience. Experience in construction or contracting companies is a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of UAE VAT and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced MS Excel.
- Strong reconciliation, month-end closing and reporting skills; high attention to detail, integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and communicate clearly in English.
