A UAE-based group operating 10 companies across several countries is looking for a Financial Reporting & BI Consultant to modernise and automate its financial reporting. The job is to rebuild the group's existing Financial Report either in Power BI or as a custom web-based dashboard. The consultant will recommend which approach to take, based on their expertise and proposed architecture.

Today the Finance team consolidates the report by hand in Excel. Data comes from 10 entities with different currencies and reporting structures. Each entity has its own report, and a consolidated management report rolls all entities into one AED view using the same framework. Earlier attempts to rebuild this in Power BI did not handle all of the business rules, so the group needs someone who can work through the complexity rather than just build visuals.

Scope & Responsibilities

• Review the current Excel-based financial reports and consolidation workbooks, and document the logic, dependencies and data sources.

• Assess why earlier Power BI attempts fell short, and propose a sustainable architecture (Power BI, a custom web dashboard, or a hybrid), with clear reasoning.

• Design the data model for 10 entities: chart-of-accounts mapping, multi-currency conversion to AED (closing vs. average rates), intercompany eliminations and consolidation adjustments.

• Build automated data pipelines from the source systems (e.g. ERP / Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Excel) to cut out manual consolidation.

• Deliver the individual entity reports and the consolidated management report, matching the existing reporting framework and figures.

• Reconcile outputs against the current Excel reports so the Finance team can trust the numbers.

• Hand over documentation and train the Finance team so they can run and maintain the solution.

Requirements

• Proven experience building financial reporting and multi-entity consolidation solutions (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, management reporting).

• Solid accounting knowledge: intercompany eliminations, FX translation, consolidation logic and month-end close. A finance or accounting background (ACCA, CMA, CPA or a degree) is a strong plus.

• Advanced Power BI skills: data modelling, DAX, Power Query, row-level security and the Power BI Service. And/or experience building web-based financial dashboards (e.g. React/Next.js, Python, SQL back end).

• Strong SQL and data-modelling skills. Experience with Azure data services is a plus.

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or other ERP data is highly valued.

• Able to analyse a complex existing process on your own, explain trade-offs clearly and deliver a working, maintainable solution.

• Professional English for working directly with a group finance and corporate development team.
